UN Nuclear Official Awaits Visiting Iran
“The date for the visit of the senior IAEA official to Tehran has been set, and the trip will take place within the next 10 days,” stated ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei, in remarks reported by a state-run outlet.
In the previous month, Iranian authorities disclosed their consent to a visit from a technical delegation of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to Tehran, although it would not include any examinations of nuclear installations.
Tehran noted that the purpose of the mission will be to address the terms of cooperation between Iran and the global nuclear organization, especially in light of recent military actions attributed to Israel and the United States.
“Iran has consistently emphasized that the agency and its officials must act solely based on their technical and professional responsibilities within this international body and must avoid being influenced by political pressure,” Baqaei asserted.
