Indonesia Sends Second Wave of Aid to Gaza
This comes as the region faces severe hunger and a death toll exceeding 62,000 people since October 2023, following continued Israeli military actions.
According to an official state news outlet, Noor Achmad, who leads the National Alms Agency (Baznas), stated in Jakarta that aid from the people of Indonesia had "once again been airdropped in the Gaza Strip."
He emphasized that this operation represents the enduring unity and backing of the Indonesian population for the Palestinian pursuit of sovereignty.
Ahmad Fikri, the Director of Distribution at Baznas, mentioned that all the supplies dispatched were collected from voluntary contributions by the public.
He expressed hope that the support would not only offer direct relief but also "boost the morale of the Palestinian people to continue their struggle for independence."
The initial phase of the relief was delivered on Sunday, which coincided with Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day.
That consignment included 80 tons of supplies such as food items, medical products, and clothing.
Both deliveries are part of a broader initiative by Indonesia to send a total of 800 tons of aid to Gaza, reflecting the country’s ongoing commitment to assist those affected by the deepening humanitarian emergency.
