China Presents Complete Nuclear Triad in Military Parade
(MENAFN) China showcased its complete nuclear triad—land, sea, and air-based forces—for the first time during a massive military parade on Wednesday, commemorating its victory over Japanese aggression and the end of World War II.
The display included the JingLei-1 air-launched long-range missile, the JuLang-3 submarine-launched intercontinental missile, the DongFeng-61 land-based intercontinental missile, and a newly revealed DongFeng-31 land-based intercontinental missile, according to media.
State media hailed these weapons as China’s strategic “ace” power, emphasizing their critical role in defending the nation’s sovereignty, security, and dignity.
This unveiling represents a major milestone in showcasing China’s enhanced capability to carry out retaliatory nuclear strikes across land, sea, and air—strengthening its deterrence posture.
The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) reports that China’s nuclear arsenal is expanding faster than any other country’s, with an estimated 600 warheads by early 2025.
The SIPRI Yearbook 2025 reveals that China’s stockpile has been growing by roughly 100 warheads annually since 2023.
