The couple have been arrested since the first of February by the Taliban, which they stated that the couple had violated Afghan laws and were released after legal proceedings. However, it was never revealed the reason for their arrest by the Islamist group.
The liberation of the couple came after months of public lobbying by the member of their family, who have portrayed the terrifying conditions of their arrest.
Jonathan emphasized before his dad’s heart issues and stated that he had endured sever convulsions in jail, while his mom had been "numb" from anaemia as well as hunger.
